Innerarity Point
Church of Christ

Who are we

The Innerarity Point Church of Christ is a congregation of God’s people, located just minutes away from the beautiful white sand beaches of the Gulf Coast, in Pensacola, Florida. We are striving to live by the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16). As citizens of the Lord’s Kingdom, our aim is to expand its spiritual borders by planting and watering the seed of the Kingdom, the Word of God (1 Corinthians 3:6-9; Luke 8:4-15; Matthew 28:18-20).

What to Expect

We assemble every Sunday morning at 9:00 for Bible classes. Worship follows at 10:00. Our Sunday evening worship service is at 5:00. We assemble again on Wednesday evening at 5:00 for Bible classes.

Our objective in worship is to honor and please God (John 4:23-24). Therefore, our worship consists of the acts that God has prescribed in His Word—singing (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16), praying (Acts 2:42), partaking of the Lord’s Supper (Matthew 26:26-29; Acts 20:7), giving (1 Corinthians 16:2), and preaching (Acts 2:42; 20:7).

We have Bible classes for children of all ages and adults. These classes are designed to equip each person with a complete and practical understanding of the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15; 3:15-17).

We hope you will come and be with us as we worship, study, and grow together.

WHAT WE BELIEVE ON KEY SUBJECTS

God

We “must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). He spoke the universe into existence (Genesis 1:1) and made man in His image (Genesis 1:26-27). There is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6), and three distinct Persons of the Godhead: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
Praying to God

Jesus

John 1:1-14 describes Christ as the Word, as God, as the One through Whom God created all things, and as the One that “became flesh and dwelt among us.” As a man, He “was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15). This enabled Him to be the perfect sacrifice on the behalf of sinful man (Hebrews 10:12; 1 John 2:2). The message of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection is good news and is to be preached throughout the world (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Matthew 28:18-20). He is “the way, the truth and the life” and no one can come to the Father but through Him (John 14:6).

The Bible

The Bible is God’s inspired Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17). While the Old Testament was “written for our learning” (Romans 15:4), we are spiritually bound to the New Testament (Colossians 3:17; Hebrews 10:4-10). It is the new covenant (Matthew 26:28) and is described as the faith (Galatians 1:23; Jude 3), the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2), the perfect law of liberty (James 1:25), the truth (Galatians 3:1), and the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8).

The Church

The church, which Jesus promised to build in Matthew 16:18, was established on the first Pentecost following His resurrection (Acts 2:36-47). The Lord adds the saved to it (verse 47). Christ is the Savior and Head of the body, the church (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22-23). The majority of the New Testament is a compilation of letters written to first century congregations (not separate denominations) of this same church, directing them in organization, worship, interaction, and Christian living. We are determined to be this church. Nothing more, nothing less.

Salvation

All spiritual blessings, including salvation, are found only “in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3; 2 Timothy 2:10). While sin earns us death, the salvation that God offers is a gift (Romans 6:23). Even though we could never possibly earn this gift, God does set forth conditions. Man is required by God to believe in the deity of Christ (John 8:24), repent of sins (Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38), confess faith in Christ (Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9-10), and be baptized for the remission of sins (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38). Having then been baptized into Christ (Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:27), and having his sins washed away in Jesus’ blood (Acts 22:16; Revelation 1:5), the Christian is to continue in faithfulness, walking in the light of God’s Word (1 John 1:7-9).
